GP7
C&O 5767  (74kb)  On this unit I hollowed out the access ports on the side sill above the fuel tank.

GP9
PC 3800  (68kb)  GP9B.  Radiator fans were replaced with 48" dia. fans.  These were dynamic brake
fans taken from two spare Atlas GP9 shells.  Conversion kit is from Des Plaines
                             Hobbies.

GP30

C&O 7536  (82kb)  Super detailed.  Triple clasp trucks.  One detail escaped me.  Putting the brake wheel on the rear deck

SD60M
BN 1991  (84kb)  Desert Storm paint scheme.  I did this model for a friend who is a big BN fan.  No super detailing, just a
                              custom paint job.

GE

U25B
PC 2625  (65kb)  No super detailing.

U23C
PC 6702 (28kb)  Did not do any super detailing.  Only added basic details.  Unit started out as a U30C.  The Kato unit looked
closer to a U23C than a U30C except for the one extra access box on the right side.  This is as close to a U23C
as I could get.  With N-Scale there are compromises.  I reworked the Kato trucks to better represent a U23C.

U30B

C30-7

ALCO

RS11
PC 7632  (39kb)  No super detailing.

N-SCALE FREIGHT CARS

BOX CARS
Northwest Hardwoods 13150  (67kb)  Atlas car.
CN 413075  (63kb)  Roundhouse car.
Chessie 480234  (56kb)  Roundhouse car.

FLAT CARS
CN Auto Rack 711993  (50KB)  Con Cor car.  Used Sunrise Enterprises bolster kit to relocate trucks and lower car.
Also used MT trucks and MT body mount couplers.  Lightly weathered.
BN Auto Rack 159727  (54kb)  Con Cor car.  Same modifications as above car.  Lightly weathered.
BN Auto Rack 803096  (57kb)  Con Cor car.  Same modifications as above car.  Medium weathered.

TANK CARS

GONDOLAS
BN 558000  (61kb)  MT car.  Logs were made from 1/8" dowel.  I bounced a dremal cutoff wheel off the wood to
create the effect of heavy bark and then painted it.  The stakes are tooth picks sliced and then
                                    painted.
D&RGW 56232  (53kb)  Roundhouse car.  This car has a semi custom shredded steel load in it.  I made the load by
buying a coal load and gluing it into the car.  I own a small hobby milling machine so I went
to Home Depot and bought a piece of aluminum bar.  I cut the bar making small cuts into the
bar.  This produced small shavings.  I glued these shavings to the top of the coal load.  I then
painted the aluminum to represent rusted steel.  The coal load provided the necessary contour
                                          for the load.
D&RGW 56225  (49kb)  Roundhouse car.  Same process as above car except this one represents a shredded aluminum
load.  No need to paint the load.  I wanted to make this car look really beat up so I used my
blasting booth and etched most of the lettering off.  I then used a soldering iron and wrinkled the
sides.  At some points I got a little to close with the iron and melted small holes so I used this
opportunity to represent where the maintenance shop did a quick repair and welded sheet plate
                                         over the holes.
BN 567775  (54kb)  Roundhouse car.  Another aluminum load.  The beat up sides show in this photo better.

HOPPERS
IMCX 10324  (58kb)  MT car.
GN 173852  (74kb)  MT car.
CRR 899818  (65kb)  Atlas car.  These PS2 hoppers are my favorite cars.  This one was a first time experiment.  I used a sharp
scriber and stippled rust pock marks in the sides.  I then gave it heavy washes of black and Rustall.  I am
                                    very happy with the results.
PC 74204   (57kb)  Atlas car.  Another of my favorite type of car.
Soo Line 6711  (60kb)  Atlas car.  And another favorite type car.

CABOOSE
Chessie 3282  (61kb)  Atlas car.  You can not see it, but there are also windshield wipers on the cupola windows.  All the grab
                                      are .006 brass wire.
